IJsvogel Retail BV and Pets Place Boerenbond Retail BV (hereinafter jointly referred to as: IJsvogel Retail or we ) consider it very important that we carefully handle your data that we received from you in the context of our application process.
The data we receive from you will be stored by us in a secure database. We only share your personal data with third parties when these parties are involved in the recruitment of new talent for our organization and will only be used for this purpose.
2. Who is responsible for your personal data?
IJsvogel Retail is the data controller for the processing of your personal data in the context of our application process. Our HR department collects your personal data because of their central role and have the responsibility to carry out the processing within our organization.

3. Which personal data do we process?
IJsvogel Retail processes personal data that you provide to us in the context of job applications. These are the following application details:
- Name and address details (name, address, place of residence);
- Gender;
- Date of birth;
- Communication data (email address and telephone number);
- Career and education data;
- Other personal data stated on the CV (for example a photo) or provided in correspondence with HR.
We also process screening data (publicly accessible information) about you, as stated for example on your social media profiles.
4. For what purposes do we process your data?
4.1 Recruitment purposes
When you apply for a vacancy via the website https://werkenbij.ijsvogelretail.nl/, register for notifications, or contact our HR department, we will include the personal data you provide in our personnel information system. Our HR department will also examine data on your social media profiles as part of IJsvogel Retail’s recruitment and selection policy.
We process this personal data in order to assess whether you are suitable for the position for which you applied.
4.2 Communication purposes
We use your e -mail address, telephone number and/or address to let you know whether or not you have been selected for a full round of applications. We can explain this orally, but also in writing.
If you are hired and start working as an employee at IJsvogel Retail, we will store your name and address details, gender, date of birth and communication data in our employee database. Our internal privacy policy states what measures we take within our organization to protect personal data of employees.
5. How long do we store your personal data ?
If you are not hired, we will retain your application data for no more than 4 weeks after the application procedure has ended. If you have given permission for this, we will store your data for a maximum of one year, for example to contact you about a possible suitable position within our organization.
If you are hired, we will retain your name and address details and agreements about salary and employment conditions for a period of 7 years after termination of employment under the Dutch National Taxes Act.
6. Legal bases for processing
The processing, collection and storage of personal data is only permitted if there is a legal basis for this. Your data will only be used for the management and control of the application process. The basis for processing in the context of our application process is our legitimate interest in being able to carry out an application process.
If we decide to employ you and an employment contract has to be drawn up, we will process your data for the purpose of entering into and executing an agreement.
7. Consequences of not providing personal data
We will inform you in advance about cases in which you are obliged to provide personal data that we have to process on the basis of:
- a legal or contractual obligation and/or;
- because this is a necessary condition for concluding an agreement.
In these cases we will inform you about the consequences associated with a possible refusal to provide this personal data .
IJsvogel Retail makes clear in the vacancy text which (personal) data is minimally required to assess whether you will be admitted to the application procedure. If you do not provide this personal data (in full), we may decide not to admit you to our application process. Additional (personal) data may be requested at any stage of the application process. It will also be explained what the consequences are if this (personal) data is not provided.
8. Your rights
Under European and national privacy legislation, you have various rights with regard to your personal data:
- the right to inspect and a copy of your personal data;
- the right to rectification or deletion of personal data;
- the right to restriction of personal data processing;
- the right to object to our use of your personal data;
- the right to request that we transfer your personal data to a third party;
- the right not to be subject to automated decision-making.

Please note: the above rights are not absolute. This means that we do not have to comply in all cases with a request to exercise one of the aforementioned rights.
We will handle your objection or request to inspect, change, delete or transfer your personal data, in accordance with the law, within 4 weeks. It will be indicated whether and how your request will be complied with and if not, why not. If this is necessary in connection with the request, we can extend the response time. In that case, IJsvogel Retail will inform you within 4 weeks of the period within which a response will be given.
